Abstract:A large number of mineral-bearing caving cover layers formed in the open-pit to underground period which still have high recovery value and good recovery conditions were piled up in the western area in Shenbu Copper Mine. For the change of ore body morphology limit the downward path of mineral-bearing caving cover layer and there is no longer necessary for mineral-bearing caving cover layer as the mining mode gradually changes from the caving method to the open-stope method and the filling method, recovering the mineral-bearing caving cover layer in time is a effective method to increase business efficiency. Based on the investigation of the thickness, grade and blackness, the characteristics of the mineral-bearing caving cover layer in the western area are basically ascertained. After determining the ore-removing step and recovery height by indoor simulated experiment and establishing the characteristics of ore body, two different recovering schemes for mineral-bearing caving cover layer in medium thick and thick branches ore body and thick ore body are been proposed. During the on-site recovery test, a total of 3.66×104t of mineral-bearing caving cover layers was recovered, creating an economic benefit of 1.8 million Yuan.
