Abstract:This article is order to explore the remote sensing survey method for the area of newly added mine environment rehabilitation, exploring the technical feasibility for deeply implementing the assessment index of green development index. An open pit coal mine in Inner Mongolia was selected as the research area. Multi-year remote sensing data were used for remote sensing investigation. Open pits, active mining surfaces, dump sites, mining buildings, transit sites and rehabilitation areas in different years have been delineated respectively, in this mining area. The investigation results show that: this mine is a rehabilitate while damage coal mine, the area of mine environment rehabilitation is on the rise, but the increase of damaged area is greater. Especially in recent years, all the area of newly-added mine environment rehabilitation, which closely related to green development index, are negative. It shows that this coal mine needs to further strengthen the mine environment rehabilitate efforts. The new remote sensing survey method introduced in this article can serve the national green development index statistics. Objective, macro, fast and efficient are the advantages of remote sensing technology, not be disturbed by human factors, can conduct regular regional surveys and monitoring at the national level, can provide objective basic data for national green development index statistics.
