In underground metal mines the number of underground workers is great generally,underground workers ’ fingerprint information is great also,and the image-forming quality of fingerprints is poor.A safety tracing management system for underground workers based on fingerprint identification technology which takes local or internet network as network platform has been developed.This system implements fingerprint matching by using the computer kernel in the network center,has faster speed of fingerprint matching and powerful processing ability of fingerprint images.This system has been applied to some underground metal mines successfully,and has got good results in practice.
