The artificial island project in Musandam Peninsula,Sultanate of Oman needed dimension block stone with a demanding size-distribution.In light of the characteristics and difficulties of the blasting project in severe tropical desert environment,the good blasting result with 34%～38% real yield of finished block stone was achieved by a series of technique and measures favorable to producing graded block stone and overcoming the adverse affects brought about by the severe tropical desert environment.It has provided good experience and lessons for similar projects and for domestic enterprises engaged with blasting to expand cooperation and exchanges with other countries.
