The strategic position of copper resources in China is analyzed in this paper,the main characteristics of copper resources in China are summed up,and the supply-demand situation of copper resources is investigated.Several measures are put forward to realize the sustainable development of copper industry of our country,such as,strengthening the exploitation of copper resource,speeding up the key project of our country,improving the use of low-grade copper ores,integrating the industry resources to built up large enterprise with international competitiveness,improving the rational use of reproducible copper resources,setting up policy and system of copper reservation,madding vigorous yet cautious efforts to develop and utilize foreign copper resource steadily.
