Abstract:During the fully mechanized mining experiment of 14459 coal face of the No.4 coal seam at Xiaotun colliery in Fengfeng mining district,in view of the complicated geological conditions of thin coal seam,many faults,and hard but fractured roof,high-powered shearer,high-strength hydraulic support and the floor blasting technology were used.The fully-mechanized caving of the thin coal seam with average thickness of 1.1m was achieved,and the mining efficiency was raised by 16.2 t/man,mining cost was reduced by 5.8 yuan/t,accidents was reduced by 75% and coal output was doubled.The experimental study laid the foundation for mining the thin coal seam mining in Fengfeng coal mining district.
