The stability analysis of No.2 dumping site in Nanfen Iron Mine is made using limit equilibrium method.The stability of the dumping site after 200 m advance using the present single bench dumping is analyzed,and the effect of the sub-benching dumping mode on the stability of the dumping site is analyzed also.Some conclusions are drawn: at present the dumping site is steady,but when in rainy or snow melting season,the stability of the dumping site will be greatly reduced if the underground water in the dump cannot be drained timely,representing a great hidden safety danger;the change of the dumping mode to sub-benching will have no evident improvement on its stability.It is suggested that the safety monitoring,drainage and baffling of the dump should be well done.
