During participatory design(PD) of a system,the knowledge and experience of engaging researchers,designers,developers,technical experts and end-users are aggregated in order to ensure the quality of developed system.Using for reference the results of military research,this paper discusses two methods to implement the PD of mine production scheduling system,one is Elicitation by Critiquing (EBC) and the other one is Value Focused Thinking(VFT).Both the techniques can engage different persons involved in system development at the requirements discovery stage of system development.
