Taking expert system shell Xi_Plus,which was developed by US Inference Co,as the tool,an expert system for the tunnel support design of underground mines was built up,so that a economical and practical method for the tunnel support design of underground mine was provided.In this paper,the knowledge acquisition,establishment of knowledge base and system design of the expert system are expatiated,also an example is given to prove developed the expert system.
