Abstract:Carbonate hydroxylapatite(CHAP),prepared from abandoned eggshell, was used to remove Pb2+ from simulated wastewater. The factors that might influent the adsorption performance of CHAP were investigated, such as pH values, adsorption time, reaction temperature,CHAP dosage and the initial concentration of Pb2+.The results showed that when CHAP dosage was 0.6g/L and initial concentration of Pb2+ was at 750 mg/L,the removal ratio of Pb2+ by CHAP adsorption could reach up to 99.9%,and the adsorption capacity was up to1243.75 mg/g.The adsorption isotherms for Pb2+could be well fitted by both Freundlich and Langmuir equation.According to the constant the 1/n=0.0184 in the Freundlich equation,a conclusion could be made that the adsorption reaction was an easily spontaneous endothermic process with high reaction rate.
