In the case of No.3 shaft at Xuefengshan Express Highway Tunnel,a deep raise boring machine was used to bore a pilot shaft,and then blasting was used for reaming this pilot shaft,which is a new construction technology of shaft.The authors describe design of deep raise boring equipment and the experimental study on boring technology,and make an approach to some problems occurring in the deep raise boring test.
