Abstract:A series of laboratory cementing experiments on the total tailings from a gold mine in Shandong Province were conducted by use of ordinary cement and polyhydrate material as binding materials.Based on the measurements of unconfined compressive strength(UCS) of the cemented samples under different combinations of curing days, slurry concentration and dosage of binding materials, the effects of the above cementing parameters on the unconfined compressive strength(UCS) of cemented samples was discussed. The results indicated that the polyhydrate binding material can produce higher binding strength under lower dosage compared with the ordinary cement,so it is applied to cement total gold tailings. The main influencing factors of binding effect of polyhydrate material as binging material is analyzed by use of variance analysis, finally, the optimal cementing parameters for the total gold tailings were suggested.
