This paper briefly describes the resources conditions of the andalusite mineral at home and abroad,introduces the distribution and basic situation of andalusite mineral and the current status of its exploitation and applications in Xinjiang,considers that andalusite as an important material of producing high-grade refractory materials has wild prospects of exploitation and utilization in Xinjiang,its exploitation and utilization has important significance to the economic development of Xinjiang.
