Metakaolin has of good properties such as agglomeration and pozzolanic activity, so can be used to prepare the geopolymeric materials. In this paper, briefly introduced are the preparation process of matakaolin and the present situation of research on it at home and abroad, further expounded in detail are geopolymeric mechanism, characteristics, properties and application fields of geopolymeric materials. In addition, this paper points out the necessity of research on geopolymeric materials in China.
