The current situation of power consumption in Chinas alumina industry and major factors affecting the power consumption are discussed in the paper. Major directions and goals for systematic energy saving are proposed. On the basis of this, major significant energy saving technologies are proposed to be developed and applied in Chinas alumina industry.
