Abstract:The distribution and removal technology of Arsenic in the heavy metals such as copper, tin, lead and zinc smelting processes are introduced. In the copper metallurgical process, arsenic is dominantly eliminated in the electrolyte purification by the electrolysis and solvent extraction process. There are few results on the arsenic removal with the pyro-process for copper smelting. The content of arsenic in the tin concentrate is about 0.5%~5.5%, pre-treatment for arsenic removal by the roasting process is adopted commonly. However the high-arsenic dust from the smelting procedure is dealt with by the electric- heating kiln or hydrometallurgical process. The attention is paid on the high-arsenic lead converter dust, lead slime and secondary zinc oxide in the field of lead and zinc smelting.
