Through the deformation monitoring of 1138m2 sublevel drift and slice connections in combination with investigations in drifts damage, engineering geology conditions, ground stress environment, support performance and mining disturbance effect etc.,the author pointed out the main causes for the development drifts instability and advanced the views that drift support should be stronger rather than weak and ground pressure-controlled measures so as to provide scientific basis for smooth subsequent mining operation.
