This paper presents the basic current situation of and the major remaining problems with the development of the nonferrous metals industry in Shanxi province. According to the author, the only way out for the industry is to increase the industrial scale and enhance the comprehensive strength of the industry. Specifically, the author proposes some measures and suggestions for development of the industry.
