Abstract:In the past, the forty-two percent of power was from Yangbajing geothermal power plant in Lhasa, Tibet, but the utilization of geothermal resources is declining now, which reflects the crude mode of development and utilization of mineral resources, and the weak technological support capability. Based on the analysis of the advantages and potential of Tibetan mineral resources, especially chromite, copper, boron, lithium, aurum etc, the paper put forwards that the development and utilization of chromite, copper and aurum should be the emphasis of Tibetan mining industry, and offers some constructive proposals about orientation, distribution and sustainable development of mining industry.
