Abstract:In order to mine the sea floor resources, the collectors with different structure have been developed in the countries concerned in the world. However, determining the traveling route of both collector and mining ship is a difficult problem on deep sea mining. An introduction to using the principle of short baseline acoustics to determine the collector position is made. Meanwhile, the working principle of positioning system, the composition of system, the traveling path of collector in the underwater and the interference-free countermeasures and delay revision are described also.
