After a description of the fundamental role that China's mineral resource industry is playing in the national economy, the paper discusses in detail the challenges facing China's mineral resources industry after China's entry into the WTO and puts forward measures to meet the challenges, including utilization of international capital market, making good use of the benefits coming along with the economic globalization process, strengthening sino-foreign cooperation in the mining sector and helping incorporate mineral resource groups.
