Abstract:Limit equilibrium analysis methods are usually used to assess stability of rock slopes. For application of the various limit equilibrium analysis methods, assumptions must be made regarding the shape and specific position of the slope slide surface. Based on the principle and technology of acoustic emission, the results monitored by acoustic emission devices are analyzed using the convergence method. Therefore, the specific position and shape of the slide surface of slope can be identified during the dynamic evolving process of slope failure. Finally, the stability of the slope can be assessed via a slope safety coefficient obtained using various limit equilibrium methods. This approach is favorable for enhancing the accuracy of slope stability analysis.
