In order to be compatible with the updated versions of AutoCAD and made the open pit mining CAD system useful in new platforms, based on the AutoCAD2000 platform, a new system was developed with combines the ARX 2000 with the MFC. The newly developed open pit mining system offers high flexibility, efficiency and compatibility. The paper deals with the program updating and development scheme as well as the key technical aspects.
