Before the commissioning of the 2nd phase expansion project at Huidong lead Zinc Mine,the grade of ore from opencast mining was lower,Consequently,the vertical slice and upward drift mining with rock cemented filling was applied to underground mining to extract partial rich ore beforehand so as to meet the requirement of raw materials of metallurgical plant and play a role in repaying loans and enhancing economic benefit of the mine as well.The author gave detailed introduction to the application of this mining method in Huidong mine
