Abstract:Mechanism and practice of inclined hole and straight cuts, which are now in common use in raising and drifting, is analyzed. It follows that the wedge cutting by drilling a row of inclined holes on each side of the cut to be blasted is difficult to achieve large advance per round, but there is one method or are several methods of straight cut by which could resulting in higher blasting efficiency and greater advance per round for drivage in more blast resistant hard rock, as well as the standards of estimating the straight cut results are advanced.
