In the light of current practice in China, this paper approached some issues related to the blast for dismanting buildings in urban districts theoretically, expounded the design criteria and relevanf examples of blasts for dismanting constructions such as high buildings, spacial threedimensional structures, large reinforced concrete frames, brickworks and big containers, and put forward some existing problems in current practice and measures for improvement
