According to the specific conditions of mining technology and the primary separation process in shandai kaoline mine in Zhanjiang, the author broken through the pattern of the traditimal open pit mining method used for kaoline,conducted a comparative study of hydraulic extraction and dredging,and came to a conclusion that the dredging plan was more suitable for the open pit mining of this mine. This paper provides a mew way to mining design for similar mines.
