The high-pressure waterjet is a widely used high and new technology,andcan be introduced to material cutting,pipe cleaning,scale removing,hole drilling,breakingand so on needed in the industries of building materials,machinery,mining,metallurgy,aeronautics and light industry etc. Emphatically,this paper describes the technologicaldominance of Changsha Institute of Mining Resarch(CIMR)over the study of high-pres-sure waterjet and some great achievements obtained by CIMR.These achievementsshowed a remarkable economical and social benefits in the deployment,have been well re-ceived by users and administrations,and become a news focus.
