In order to meet the need of the large-diameter longhole drilling in underground mines and the control of slope in open pit mines,entrusted by the Chinese govern-ment,Changsha Institute of Mining Research(CIMR)carried out a study on high pressurepneumatic DTH drill.Since 1980,several kinds of typical products have been developedsuccessfully,and put into use in the mines.This paper describes the significance of thestudy on high pressure pneumatic DTH drill,and main features of the products developedby CIMR.
