Manual searching is a tranditional literature searching method,also the basis of computer searching.Coexistence of the manual and computer searching systems brings their individual advantages into play and makes things convenient for the readers. A manual searching system for mining literatures has been established in Changsha Institute of Mining Research.The technical fields, the catalogue card format,the classification method and the definition as well as searching methed are introduced.The said system also serves the guidance function to computer searching.
