Addition of XS-1 swelling agent to cement will cause volume swelling and generate self-stress. Thus resistance of concrete to breaking and permeation will be increased. The swelling mechanism and physical-mechanical properties are described. Field applications indicated that main performances indexes of the agent are better than domestic and foreign products of its kinds.
