As potential accidents hazards exist with massive blasting in Taolin lead-zinc mine, experimental study on tight blasting was conducted. Tight blasting parameters suitable for the ore and surrounding rock conditions were determined and put to use in industial tests. The results indicated that tight blasting method has following advantages; simple technique, safe wosking, convenient operation, low oversize piece rate. The experimental study achieved good results.
