Practical experience of residual pillar resources recovery during old workings close period in Xiangxi Gold Mine was summed up in this paper. It pointed out that the combination of exploration with stoping, choice of effective mining method, and reinfor cement of technical and safety management were good approaches to efficient recovery of these pillars. Thp eractice has shown that this method could achieve greater economical benefit. Therefore, the practical experience of this mine could be useful in similar mines.
