The mechanized panel mining with cemented tailings fill is one of the main mining methods used in Fankou Lead-Zinc Mine. Currently, the ore production from this mining method accouted for over one third of total production of mine. The development method that the stope was combined with high level and high slice was used for this mining method, including backfill with cemented tailings. The parallel operation was the main stoping procedures. Due to high mechanization of stoping, the stope capacity was great.Compared with the conventional backfill, the capacity of stoping and the productivity of mining were doubled, and the mining cost was reduced by 28.4%. The experiment and deployment of this method in Fankou Mine is described, including the main links of mining technology and the main technico-economic indices obtained from this method.
