For the first time in China, the open-stope slicing and cemented tailings filling were used to excavate the previous fill for ore recovery in old stope. Practice manifested that when mining flatly inclined mid thick orebody of fill stringer lode type with roof being subsidenced and collapsed it was not only technically feasible and operationally safe, giving higher economic profit. With Xiangxi Gold Mine as on example, this article mainly describes the mining thchnology,roof-control and safety monitoring.
