By using the Swedish stripe division method, simplified Bishop method and thrust transmi ssion method, the west-slope stability at the Huidong Surface Mine has been analyzed and electronically computed. The stabilization coefficients of five sections on the west-slope have also been evaluated and, compared with the permissible stabilization coefficients, each section stability is judged. The results show that there are unstable zones in the west-slope and special attention must be paid to the black fracture zone. For the mine production safety, necessary slope consolidation measures must be taken.
