Abstract:This paper is a special discussion on the theoretical and practical approach to stability of high slope in Huidong Lead-Zinc Open Pit Mine, Sichuan Province.The main contents and the achieved results of this study are described. The authors expound the engineering geology of slope and the mechanics characteristics of rock masses, calculate and analyze the stable state of slope, compare slope consolidation with slope grade decrease regarding the technical and economical results and put forward the feasible scheme for slope consolidation according to the designed slope, including the primary design. Meanwhile, scientific basis is provided for stability study and comprehensive control of high slope in similar metal mines.
