Gyroscopic oriention redar guide line has high pvecision in survey and particuly useful for major connecting survey which requires high precision or for underground preliminary plane control survey in long underg round strikes. This paper describes two types of guide line layout and discusses how to calculate survey errors. The formula for calculating errors at traverse end has been proved reasonably. Compared with traditonal transit steel rule traverse, the Distomat traverse is obviously much more superior and offers brighter prospects for further application.
