For blasting demolition of buildings of brick stouclure, reducing the width of the gap properly can reduce drilling and blasting work and siwplily initiating network. Through mechanical analysis and numerical calculation the possibility of reducing gap the width is discussed in this paper. The results show when the width of the gap is more than 80% that of the building, the collapse of the building can be achieved. Finally, analysis results are compared with the practices engineering.
