Visualization technique has broad application prospects in various field of natural science, its application in mine industry is just unfolding. In this paper, the basic fundamentals and the data flow model of visualization process are described, and two main imaging methods of visualization, i.e. surface rendering and volume rendering, are introduced and compared. Finally, the application prospects of visualization technique in mining industry are discussed.
