China is one the richest countries in fluorite resource in the world. However, there are some problems such as more distribution of fluorite deposits over China, low grade of fluorite deposits, lack of the unified plan and management of exploiting and utilizing fluorite resources, serious wastes of the resource and excessive exportation of fluorite ore. Based on the analyses of the advantage of fluorite resource and above mentioned problems, this paper brings forward some countermeasures: (1) implementing and perfecting strategic mineral resource reserve system to protecting this resource; (2) strengthening the geologic prospecting to increase geologic reserve of fluorite resource; (3) increasing the utilizations of low grade ore and tailings; (4) looking for and using substitutional resources.
