The paper discusses the basic geostatistics theory and the corresponding method and procedures used to estimate reserves at first, and then some copper mine's copper reserves are analysed and estimated by geostatistics with the computer as a tool. Finally, the resulting estimated reserves are compared with the real reserves, and then a conclusion is drawn that geostatistics is advanced and practical in reserves estimation.
