Mining city is one type of special cities. It holds important positions not only in city system but also in economic and social development for a country. In China, there are many mining cities, which once contributed much to the national economy construction and development, but now are confronted with new challenges in development. In this paper, the point of view of national security integrated with the characteristics of mining city itself is chose to discuss the effect of mining city development on national security, so as to provide reference grounds at national security level by positioning the development of mining city strategically.
