The major types of rock are weathered volcanic and granite in the slope in Hong Kong, and the part surface of the slopes are covered with colluvial soil. In this district the soil nail technique is adopted usually to reinforce the slopes, the man-made slopes have been made green by planting trees, grasses etc., and for the man-made slopes the some detailed regulations have been made and mature techniques have been developed. The maintenance and management system of stabilizing slope and a perfect slope safety system have been developed.
