Intersection means the place where drifts intersect at or branch off.All the existing drift intersections in Dragon Head Mine were designed in the light of the calculation and drafting methods for intersection design in Mining Design Manual.The intersections of this design were more amount of work,larger section of drift at intersection place,not so good in loading state and partial space of them was less use in actual application.This paper,in the light of the problems existing in practical design and construction,conducted analysis and calulation to the modification of intersection design with No.41 intersection on 1280 level of Dragon Head Mine as an example.
