On the basis of the author's experience in the study and practice of blasting both at open pits and underground for some years,mining blast objectives, the mechanism of microsecond blast,selection of delay interval and the new microsecond initiation system the low energy detonating cord system were analyzed preliminarily. The industrial experiments of this initiation system were described in detail. This will be a reference for use of the system in mines.
