The sound speed characteristic's of rock blocks and rockmass surrounding the deep orebody of Baiying Copper Mine were detected and studied. On the basis of the test results, the loose rock circle around underground drift was defined. The mechanical characteristics of wallrocks were also analyzed preliminarily.
