In Xiangxi Gold Mine, the traditional resuing-and- filling method accounts for 62% of the total ore production. For the survival of the mine, however, it is necessary to further enlarge the stope productivity, reduce labour intensity and improve working safety. Therefore, the original mining system has been modified, aiming at rising mechanization level and filling to the stope roof pin-point blasting. The basic scheme of the improved mining system is described along with its field test results and main techeconomic indices. Its application prospects are also discussed.
