Abstract:In order to prevent the formation of dust from fine coal particles and further reduce the dust production of open coal yards of coal mines, coal washing plants and ports, graft copolymerization is adopted to prepare a novel polymer dust suppressant which has both cohesiveness and wettability. In the preparation process, sodium alginate and collagen are selected as the matrix, and potassium persulfate is used as the initiator and N,N-methylenebisacrylamide is cross-linking agent. Finally, the monomer acrylamide is grafted onto the substrate. The principle ratio of the best bonding effect was determined by single factor experiment. The wettability was evaluated by measuring the thickness of the solidified layer after the natural dusting of the dust suppressant. The mechanism of the dust suppressant of the new dust suppressant was analyzed by SEM images. The spray device was used to simulate the rainfall to verify the water resistance of the dust suppressant. The results show that the new dust suppressant has good wettability, cohesiveness and water resistance, and has good dust suppression effect under open conditions.
