Abstract:The peculiar structure of montmorillonite K-10 makes it has cation exchange capability,and it is the base that montmorillonite K-10 can be used to adsorb heavy mental ions.The adsorption properties of montmorillonite K-10 to nickel ion from aqueous solution were studied by liquid scintillation counting.The effects of such reaction conditions as temperature,pH va1ue,amount of montmorillonite and initial nickel concentration on the nickel ion adsorption content of montmorillonite K-10 were researched.The results indicated that higher pH va1ue,more montmorillonite K-10 and higher temperature are favourable for enrichment of nickel ion on the sorbent.Thermodynamic adsorption isotherm model for nickel ion is described by Freundlich equation.
